What is a VISA Debit Card?
A VISA Debit Card is a payment card that gives you access to your account funds. You can use it to make purchases in-store, online, or by phone, and to withdraw cash at ATMs worldwide.
How do I request a VISA Debit Card?
You can request a debit card when you open an account or by contacting us through Online Banking, by phone, or in person at our branch.
How long does it take to receive my debit card?
You’ll typically receive your card within 7–10 business days after your request has been processed.
Using Your Card
Where can I use my VISA Debit Card?
Your debit card can be used anywhere VISA is accepted – including stores, restaurants, online retailers, and ATMs worldwide.

How do I activate my new debit card?
Activate your card by calling the activation number provided on the sticker attached to your card.
Is there a daily spending or withdrawal limit?
Yes. For security purposes, there are daily limits for ATM withdrawals ($305) and point-of-sale purchases ($1,000). Please contact us for the specific limits on your card.
Security and Fraud Protection
What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?
Call us immediately at 212-960-7100 to report your card lost or stolen. We’ll block the card and issue a replacement.
What if I notice unauthorized transactions?
Report any suspicious or unauthorized transactions to us right away. We will investigate and, if appropriate, issue a refund in accordance with our fraud protection policy.
Is my VISA Debit Card protected against fraud?
Yes, you won’t be held responsible for unauthorized transactions, provided they’re reported promptly and confirmed the transactions are not yours.
Managing Your Card
Can I change my PIN?
Yes, you can change your PIN by calling us at 212-960-7100.
Can I use my debit card internationally?
Yes, your debit card can be used internationally anywhere VISA is accepted. Be sure to notify us of your travel dates (3 business days in advance) to avoid transaction blocks and check for any foreign transaction fees.
How can I track my debit card transactions?
You can view all transactions through Online Banking, our mobile app, or by reviewing your monthly account statements.
What fees are associated with my VISA Debit Card?
There are no fees for everyday purchases using your VISA Debit Card. However, certain fees may apply for using out-of-network ATMs or making international transactions.
ATM Fee Reimbursement:
If you use an out-of-network ATM, we’ll reimburse up to $15 in ATM surcharge fees each month. Reimbursements are automatically credited to your account at the end of each month.
Can I have multiple debit cards on one account?
Yes, you can request additional cards for joint account holders or authorized users, subject to approval. Please contact the credit union for further information.
